Go Go Go Horse Race: Jim Goldie | Hawkeye goes International. Jim Goldie is trying forward to running Hawkeyethenoo within the Betfair Summer Double International Handicap at Ascot on Saturday when the six-year-old finished a creditable fifth within the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
It was the seasoned handicapper's 1st venture into cluster One company and he showed he wasn't out of place within the six-furlong showpiece won by Mayson.
Hawkeyethenoo may be a regular visitor to Ascot and was third within the Wokingham at the Royal meeting.
"He appears grand. we have a tendency to purposely left him overnight in Newmarket therefore he had an opportunity to own a decent night's sleep, rehydrate and acquire some feed into him," said the Glasgow trainer.
"The set up is to undertake to run him next week at Ascot. He loves it there.
"I do not assume the July Cup took an excessive amount of out of him and he ought to run well.
"I did not expect to be running on significant ground at Newmarket on the July course."
