Godolphin | Helmet retired to stud. Former high Australian performer Helmet has been retired to stud once finishing well crushed on his British bow for Godolphin.

Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, Helmet won last year's Caulfield Guineas in his native country, when trained by Peter Snowden, and has been victorious in 2 different cluster One races.

However, he has not won since that Caulfield success last October and trailed home in seventh behind Frankel on his sole begin for Mahmood Al Zarooni within the Queen Anne Stakes.

Oliver Tait, Darley's chief operating officer, told www.godolphin.com: "Helmet was among the best colts in an elite generation.

"Few horses will win 3 cluster Ones across 2 consecutive seasons and Helmet did it the exhausting method, out in front.

"He was an interesting talent, rated superior to his sire Exceed And Excel who is such a successful and fashionable horse on our roster."
