Robert Cowell-trained four-year-old Spirit Quartz ran the race of his life to complete fifth in Tuesday's King's Stand Stakes.

"I was delighted with Spirit Quartz. He ran an amazing race and he is an improving horse," said Redvers.

"Robert is doing an impressive job with him and he'll in all probability opt for the King George Stakes at Goodwood next.

"After that, he may frame into a horse for the Prix de l'Abbaye."

Qatar racing had 2 runners within the Norfolk Stakes, with Ahern and Cay Verde finishing fifth and sixth respectively.

The former ran a very eyecatching race on simply his second racecourse look.

"Ahern was one amongst the important positives to come back out of the week. though he did not end within the frame, i assumed it absolutely was a massively encouraging run," said Redvers.

"He's such a powerful horse each physically and temperament-wise. I hope there's lots to appear forward to with him.
